About
Guillaume Gouerou is a French artist born in 1987. After training in science, he studied at the École européenne supérieure d'art de Bretagne in Brest, then at the Villa Arson in Nice.
His work, on the border between art and science, explores matter in the broadest sense through a research process that combines scientific and artistic techniques. Artist, winegrower, and enthusiast of science and technology, he hybridises practices and takes an interest in conjectures and in the processes by which matter transforms — all of it steeped in alchemy, entropy and fiction.
Uncertainty Principle, Thunder Storm, The Shape Of Time, Space Is Just An Illusion: his titles read like science-fiction novels, where fire, energy, light, time and the extreme fragility of our view of the world intertwine.
Often abstract and geometric, his works evoke natural forms and structures as much as scientific and philosophical concepts. They question the very nature of matter, time and space, and the relationship between people and the world — an invitation to explore the spirit of the matter that surrounds us, an essence at once impalpable and omnipresent.

Si Non Oscillas, Noli Tintinnare
The bell of the manor entrance gate makes the eardrums of the guests already almost all here oscillate. It must be Johannes Kepler or Roman Signer. The only two still missing. In the middle of the crowd, George Kubler has been speaking for a while about the shapes of time (4) with Roger Caillois and Aby Warburg while sipping a glass of wine.
"Time only exists because we give it consistency," he insists.
"Matter! Now that's something that doesn't lie. Isn't that right, Marie?!"
"Yes indeed! And I think that if there were any material deception, it would only come from our own ignorance or lack of knowledge of the matter!"
They burst out laughing and raise their glasses.
"Ordo ab chaos, order arises from chaos."
It seems Robert Smithson is talking entropy with Rudolf Steiner. Nikola Tesla and Winfried Otto Schumann are discussing vibration and the Earth's magnetic field oscillation... A kind of library (6) of sensitive crystallisations of the various wines being served, as well as larger circular formats (7), are hung on the wall. Near the buffet, Polly Matzinger is explaining her danger theory to Victor Vasareli using canapés as examples of immune cells. Hugh Hefner suddenly appears at the top of the staircase and as grand master of ceremonies reminds us why we are gathered.
"What if observing the world at the infinitely small level allowed us to look simultaneously at the past, the present and the future? Not times frozen in their respective confines but in movement relative to each other. A kind of atomic dance within a universe with no edge or boundary. A journey through time and space (3) simply by observing the birth of a simple stone (1). Artificially created Fulgurites (2), the encounter of vibratory energy and matter. Space here is therefore just an illusion (10). From the front, points; from the side, lines; and at infinity, curves (9). Energy and light playing with the characteristics we know them to have. Creating entangled projection spaces that could just as well take the form of a hypercube or an icositetrahedron (11) containing all the potential realities of those spaces... But from where we are we can no longer influence the future and we will remain spectators of the consequences of our past actions. So let us wait together for the next apocalypse (5), and above all do not forget that the sun always shines twice (8)."
